A process for producing a roller-blind casing from a cement-bound wood-wool composition, the roller-blind casing being of a cross-sectionally U-shaped design and its open side being closed apart from a correspondingly dimensioned slit for the through-passage of the roller blind and the inner wall of the roller blind being lined with a heat-insulating coating, is produced by the following process steps: a moistened wood wool/cement composition is applied onto a table-like surface comprising three panels which are located one beside the other and are of the same length, said composition having placed on it a core which is of the same length as the panels and corresponds to the diameter of the wound-up roller blind. The core exhibits a vertical plate, of which the thickness corresponds to the outlet slit for the roller blind. <IMAGE>
