An electronic appliance has a swivelling display unit (1), a keyboard (2) and a foot which essentially of two lateral supports (3) having each a base part (7) and a side face that extends upwards. The lateral supports (3) laterally receive the display unit in pivot bearings of the side faces at approximately half of their height and receive the rear area of the keyboard in bearings arranged in the front area of the base parts. The electronic appliance may preferably be set on a desk; it may however also be operated when the keyboard is removed and the display unit with the foot is set on the floor or secured to a wall. The invention is used in programming machines for stored programme controls.
