The dishwasher uses a program which is divided into a number of sections such as preliminary wash, clean, intermediate rinse, final rinse and dry. The volume of washing-up liquid for each part of the program is supplied via a circulation pump with an injection system. The circulation is controlled by the action of the dishes. The discharge pump is switched on for a short period during an intermediate rinse process after the water supply in the container reaches the maximum level. The feed valve is then opened to replace the volume of water discharged and continue the washing process as a function of time. It will be possible to have several intermediate rinses. The amount of water supplied for the final rinse is less than for the preceding processes.
