In addition, knocking is detected by means of a sensor f, and also, a knocking correction value is set by means of a means g. And the knocking correction value is added to the ignition time basic control value, and an ignition time control value is set by means of a means h. In this instance, when the knocking correction value becomes the outside of a predetermined range, the abnormality of the sensor a is decided by means of a means i. And the map is referred to on the basis of the engine operation state and the ignition time control value at the time of this abnormality, and the density of alcohol is surmised by means of a means j.
