<p>Composite particulate pigmentary material comprises an association of at least two materials where one material (I) comprises particles having a negative surface charge and held in association with particles of a second material (II) having a positive surface charge. Pref. (I) and/or (II) is a pigment, pref. a TiO2 ZnO, Sb, Ba, Ca, Zr, Cr, Fe, Mg or Pb pigment, ZnSO4 or lithophone. Alternatively, (I) and/or (II) is (i) a silica, silicate, aluminate, sulphate, carbonate, clay; (ii) an organic polymer, pref. polystyrene, PVC, polyethylene, acrylic polymer or a copolymer, pref. in the form of microsphere contg. voids or vesicles.</p> |
