The method automatically sets the sensitized paper and film on the video printer, and specially reduces the delay time at a printing command by finishing the print preparation when the power gets switched on. The method comprises a step of determining if the sensitized paper incomes in the printer when the power gets switched on; a step of determinig if the film is at a right position when the sensitized paper incomes in the printer.
