PURPOSE:To provide a light amplification repeater in which the conversion ratio of a laser diode can be improved in the light amplification repeater. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 11 on which main signal light can be directly amplified as it is inserted in series to an optical fiber for transmission. An excitation light source for the optical fiber 11 is duplexed, and one is set as an excitation light source 12 for main signal light amplification, and the other as an excitation light source 13 for main signal light modulation, which enables them to be used classified by every function. Those excitation light source 12 for main signal light amplification and excitation light source 13 for main signal light modulation are controlled so that the prescribed light output level of the main signal light can be obtained for the excitation light source 12 for main signal light amplification based on the light output level of the main signal light in the output of the optical fiber 11 and the detection signal of a detection control means 14 comprised so as to detect a monitor control signal from a terminal station device, and a modulation signal with prescribed light output level can be obtained for the excitation light source 13 for main signal light modulation. |
