In thawing food with an electronic range, the thawing time and the high frequency generating level can be determined by not only the weight of food but the thickness. The apparatus consist of following parts: a key manipulater (11). A weight sensor (12), a thickness sensor (13) which measures the thickness of food, a control means (14) which calculates the heating time per each phase and the total thawing time by the weight and thickness, and control the heating process, a power drive (15) for supplying a high frequency for each phase by pre-determined time and level by deriving a magnetron. The precise thawing control can be done under the optimized condition.
