PURPOSE:To provide a reversible heat-sensitive recording medium which eliminates such inconveniences as the irregularity of images and deterioration of the coloring density subsequent to the repeated use for many times as in the prior art and ensures repeated formation and erasure of images by the temperature change without any problem. CONSTITUTION:A coupler, an organic phosphoric acid developer with a long chain aliphatic group and a resin base material are completely dissolved in a cyclic ether organic solvent, in an application liquid for forming a recording layer. Immediately after the application liquid is applied onto a supporting body, the applied layer is held at a temperature 50 deg.C or higher than the melting point of the solvent. Accordingly, tone particle size of the developer is made not larger than 2mum and the average particle size of the developer is 1.5mum or smaller. Moreover, the developer is remarkably uniformly distributed in the recording layer. The average particle size of 95% or more particles of the developer is kept within + or -0.5mum and the distribution of the particle size is quite sharp in this reversible heat-sensitive recording medium. |
