A device for the sealed introduction of a cable or a lead into a switching cabinet comprises an entry plate (4), which is supported in the switching cabinet, and a sealing element (16) which can be mounted thereon by means of strips (13, 15) of an adhesive agent and is composed of material like sponge rubber. The entry plate (4) and the sealing element (16) have subelements (20; 10, 22) which can be cut off in order to form a passage opening or through opening for the cable/the lead. Adhesive tape, adhesive strip and magnetic strip are suitable as the adhesive agent. The sealing element can be air-permeable. <IMAGE>
