A retaining means with an eyelet-like through-passage for an appliance tube, in particular a sunshade tube, and with a web for fastening on a railing standard. The technical problem is to provide a stable securing means which can be fitted reliably on any railing. The web (1) exhibits a channel (5) of V-shaped cross-section, a counter-shell (8) with a channel (9), likewise of a V-shaped cross-section, can be clamped on the web (1), and the counter-shell (8) and the web (1) can be clamped onto the railing standard (12) with mirror-inverted alignment of the channels. <IMAGE>
