In order to prepare O-substituted hydroxylammonium salts having formula (I): R<1>-CHX-O-NH2 . HL, in which L = halogen, hydrogen sulphate; X = H, alkyl; R<1> = possibly substituted phenyl, thienyl, furanyl, pyrrolyl or -CR<2>=CR<3>R<4>, in which R<2>, R<3>, R<4> = H, halogen or alkyl, an acetonoxime-O-alkyl or acetonoxime-O-benzyl ether having formula (II) is reacted with water and a mineral acid H-L while the resulting acetone is continuously removed, and hydrolysis is intermittently carried out at 0-50 DEG C and under 10-500 mbar pressure. The O-substituted hydroxylammonium salts having the formula (I) are intermediate products for plant protective agents and pharmaceuticals.
