A first electrical connector comprises guide faces 30, 30' for the terminals of a mating connector. The body of the first connector supports a flexible latch 7 for each of its terminals B, and provides access for the insertion of latch locking fingers 21 from the front end via mating terminal insertion apertures that are only partly hounded by terminal guide surfaces 30 of the body. Further guide surfaces 30' are provided by the locking finger support C or another front member. The support C includes latches 23, 25 for mating with body parts (26, figure 2) and 27 in pre- and post-locking positions and provides for each latch 7 a latch release tool insertion aperture (H, figure 9). A cover plate G for a rear end seal includes apertures each having a groove (15a) to receive a terminal projection (16, figure 3) for terminal orientation. A member E cooperates with a latch 18a for the body of the mating connector, to indicate complete mating of the connectors. <IMAGE> |
