<p>The ultrasonic transducer element comprises a stack of piezoelectric layers, the stack having a first pair of sidewalls which extend along intersecting planes that are perpendicular to the piezoelectric layers. An electrode device impresses an excitation signal across the piezoelectric layers and an electrically conductive via segment is disposed at the intersection of the planes. The via segment thereby forms a corner of the stack and is in electrical communication with the electrode device. The electrode device includes electrically conductive layers disposed between the piezoelectric layers, the via segment being connected to selected ones of the electrically conductive layers.</p> |
