PURPOSE:To provide the translation assisting device which makes the relation between original words and equivalents clear by converting the character size of the equivalents and arranging the equivalents matching the original words when the equivalents are arranged and outputted nearby the respective original words of an original sentence. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 2 controls respective parts in a word processor 1 according to various control programs stored in a ROM 4 to execute the sequence as the word processor 1 and perform a sequential translating process; and equivalents to original words specified in an English sentence (original sentence) stored in a document memory 7 are read out of a dictionary memory 7, the numbers of columns and display positions of the original words and the read equivalents are judged by utilizing a register 6, and the font size of the equivalents is converted and written in a display memory 8. |
