PURPOSE:To decrease the amount of data since character and graphic information is displayed by performing enlargement arithmetic for a character signal which is made into image data. CONSTITUTION:When a header discrimination signal is present on a CPU bus 3, a CPU 11 reads in an enlargement rate specification signal which is sent out successively and sends out an X-directional and a Y-directional enlargement rate signal to an enlargement arithmetic circuit 6. The circuit 6 fixes its arithmetic mode to an enlargement arithmetic mode wherein an enlargement arithmetic process corresponding to the enlargement rates is performed. When the discrimination signal is absent on the CPU bus 3, the CPU 11 repeats the control if it is decided that an enlargement arithmetic end signal is not present. When the end signal is present, the CPU 11 sends out a memory write signal to a video memory 9. The memory 9 stores an enlarged character signal of one character. The CPU 11 reads in a player state information signal onto the bus 3 and moves to main control once it is decided that a performance by a disk player 1 ends. Therefore, the amount of data can be reduced. |
