PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by detecting the state of a terminal on the basis of a bit position assigned to a BAS code. CONSTITUTION:When the telephone number of an opposite terminal is set from a key operation means 6 and an origination key is pressed, a call control means 14 makes a connection of a channel B with the opposite terminal through a line interface part 15. A control means 13 establishes frame synchronism on the basis of H.242 by using the channel B, determines a data communication method, a communication speed, etc., for a sound and an image according to data on the BAS code, and starts a communication according to the determined items. A detecting means 11 detects audio-OFF data with the data on the BAS code and sends the OFF data to a terminal power source control means 10. Then the power sources of unnecessary terminals are turned OFF. |
