PURPOSE:To improve reliability of fluid leakage resisting performance by mixing carbon powder, coated with specific wt.% silver, in a positive pole, and giving ability of absorbing hydrogen gas, so as to decrease swelling a battery, in the case of using in a negative pole a Zn alloy without adding Hg, in the button- shaped alkaline battery using Zn in the negative pole. CONSTITUTION:In the case of using in a negative pole a zinc alloy without adding mercury, carbon powder, for instance, coated with 1 to 10wt.% silver, is mixed in a positive pole, to give ability of absorbing hydrogen gas. Thus by oxidizing generated hydrogen absorbed as water by an alkaline electrolyte, swelling a battery according to generating hydrogen gas, increasing intenal resistance, abnormal discharge, fluid leakage, etc., are solved, and the button- shaped alkaline battery excellent in a quality characteristic can be obtained. Here the positive pole 2, by the plating method, for instance, by mixing 5wt.% carbon powder coated with 5wt.% silver, similarly 5wt.% carbon powder and 90wt.% electrochemical manganese dioxide stirred, is obtained by pressure molding in a case 1. |
