ZOOMING PROCESS CIRCUIT FOR DIGITAL IMAGE

PURPOSE:To obtain the zooming process circuit for the digital image which can suppress deterioration in picture quality due to enlargement and enlarges an original image up to twice with simple circuit constitution. CONSTITUTION:Pixel data of the original image which is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 14 are inputted to an interpolating process controller 15. The interpolating process controller 15 controls an image memory 1 and stores the pixel data in an enlargement range in the image memory 1. A line buffer 2 is stored with pixel data of one scanning line with delay of one scanning line behind the pixel data in the image memory 1. An interpolating process circuit 3 performs a horizontal and a vertical interpolating process with pixel data sent from the image memory 1 and pixel data of one scanning line stored in the line buffer 2 and outputs pixel data of an enlarged image that is nearly twice as large as the enlargement range of the original image. Consequently, the picture quality of the enlarged image can be improved.
