PURPOSE:To allow continuous detection of micro blow holes larger than a specified size generated at a welded part according to ultrasonic flaw detection test. CONSTITUTION:The ultrasonic flaw detector for detecting blow holes 4 larger than 0.1mm at a welded part of a welded pipe 2 employs a wide band point converging probe 1 of 20-80MHz and a plurality of probes 1 are disposed along a welded line such that the ultrasonic point converging points are arranged at a pitch of 3mm or less in the thickness direction at the welded part 3. This apparatus allows automatic and continuous ultrasonic flaw detection at the welded part of a welded pipe. |
