PURPOSE:To produce the subject aldolase on an industrial scale by transducing a specific recombinant plasmid into a specified variant strain and culturing the resultant transformant. CONSTITUTION:A recombinant plasmid containing a chromosomic DNA fragment containing an N-acylneuraminic aldolase gene, derived from a microorganism, belonging to the genus Escherichia and capable of producing the N- acylneuraminic aldolase and integrated thereinto is transduced into a variant strain (FERM-P-8519) of Escherichia coli varied so as to express the productivity of the N-acylneuraminic aldolase in the absence of an inducer. The resultant transformant is then cultured to collect the N-acylneuraminic aldolase from the culture. Thereby, the objective aldolase is obtained. |
