PURPOSE:To provide a slurry composition capable of increasing the strengths of a ceramic tile green molded product and its sintered product and used for producing the ceramic by employing the mixture of a water-soluble acrylic polymer with an inorganic alkali compound as the dispersing agent for mineral clay. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous slurry composition for ceramics comprises (a) a mineral clay, (b) a water-soluble acrylic polymer, (c) an inorganic alkali compound, and (d) water. The employment of the mixture of the water-soluble acrylic polymer with the alkali compound enables to increase the strengths of the green molded product for a ceramic tile and its sintered product, because the mixture acts as a viscosity-controlling agent. The slurry composition is produced and subsequently spray-granulated to provide the powder composition of the ceramic raw material. The method can provide advantages such the reduction in the adding amount of the dispersing agent, the shortage in the kneading time, the increase in the content of the clay in the slurry and the saving of energy in the spray-granulating step. |
