<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the wait time of a copying machine due to lack of staples and improve copying efficiency by continuing copying for the set number of sheets to be copied even when the staples of a staple section run out during the processing of the set number of copied sheets. CONSTITUTION:Copying sheets copied by a copying machine B are stacked on a staple unit III and stapled by a finisher C. In the stapling mode, a deflecting claw 2 is set to the position of a solid line, and copying sheets are conveyed to the staple unit III via a stapling conveyance path II. Prescribed aligning actions are applied to them here, then stapling actions are applied. Whether staples exist in a staple section 13 or not is detected by a staple presence sensor. When no staple is detected, copying is continued for the set number of sheets to be copied, and the copied sheets are stacked on the staple unit III then discharged to a discharge tray 3.</p> |
