Spot-type disc brake with a multi-part fixed caliper composed of different materials

A spot-type disc brake has a multi-part fixed caliper (1) which has two yokes (5, 6) made from a high-strength material and spaced apart in the circumferential direction which overlap the edge of a brake disc, and two cover parts (3, 4) arranged on either side of the brake discs made from light alloy connected to the yokes (5, 6) and having brake pistons (13) arranged in them. In order to maintain precise tolerances as regards the position of the two yokes (5, 6) relative to one another and hence correct support of the brake pads (10, 11, 33, 49) on the yokes (5, 6), the invention envisages that the yokes (5, 6) should be connected to form a one-piece central carrier part (2). Advantageous embodiments of the invention relate to the axial connection of the brake pads (33, 49) to the brake pistons (13) for raising the brake pads (33, 49) from the brake disc after braking, the said brake pads (33, 49) being introducible radially from the outside into a well (9) in the fixed caliper (1). <IMAGE>
