PURPOSE:To prevent the development of side shell and to enable stable casting by projecting heat beam toward molten metal surface level in inner faces of one pair of side dame arranged for forming pouring basin on circumferential face of one pair of rolls. CONSTITUTION:One pair of the side dame 3a, 3b are arranged to side parts of one pair of the internal cooling rolls 1a, 1b parallel arranged as facing to form pouring basin 2. The molten metal in the pouring basin 2 is continuously cast through gap between the above rolls 1a, 1b to make a strip 4. The heat beam is projected from a heat beam gun 12 toward inner face of the side dams 3a, 3b near the molten metal surface in the pouring basin 2 to heat. Therefore, even if the side dams 3a, 3b are sent downward, the faces contacting with the molten metal are sufficiently heated and the development of the side shell is prevented. |
