A lighting assembly is disclosed. The lighting assembly includes a lamp assembly having a lamp and a transparent ring that has at least two smooth surfaces that are inwardly reflective and at least one diffusive surface. The lamp assembly and the transparent ring are configured and arranged with respect to one another to deflect light from the lamp in each of a clockwise and a counterclockwise direction in a loop around the transparent ring to achieve a level of total internal reflection. |
