Pumps often work with a reciprocating piston or with a rotary piston. A disadvantage of the first type of construction is that the mass of the piston must be accelerated and braked again during every working cycle, whereas sealing problems occur in rotary piston machines such as gear or Roots pumps. In the invention, the piston (1) moves in a rotating cylinder (2) which is located in a housing (4) and is driven by the crankshaft (3) via an internal gear. This ensures that the double piston attached to the crankshaft describes a circular movement. Apart from the use as a pump, the invention is suitable as a steam engine and as a water meter. In another arrangement of the inlet and outlet port, it can be used as an internal combustion engine. <IMAGE>
