Wheel suspension for skateboard |
摘要 |
The invention relates to a skateboard which is controlled via the feet by shifting of weight. In order that the wheels, for sporting purposes, should have a high lateral guidance capability and a consistently good surface contact (thus also permitting use on uneven surfaces), they are suspended individually and sprung relative to the board structure. The wheel suspension function is provided by a twist-beam axle which, in straight-ahead travel, exhibits the properties of a trailing link axle (constant king-pin and tow-in angles). In cornering, the effect of a kinematic connection of the two links of an axle is that all wheels adopt a steering angle towards that side to which the driver's weight is shifted, with no significant change in the king-pin angle relative to the board structure. This joint inclination of the wheels when cornering is an essential precondition for the transmission of high transverse acceleration and for a handling performance which is typical of sliding sports. The kinematic properties of the tie-beam axle can be further enhanced or supplemented by a variety of elastokinematic means. <IMAGE>
