<p>The invention relates to a polyester film for an image-forming transfer material, where the difference DELTA alpha t between the maximum coefficient of thermal expansion and the minimum coefficient of thermal expansion in the film plane is not greater than 1.0 x 10<-5>/ DEG C, and the maximum coefficient of thermal expansion alpha tmax is not greater than 2.5 x 10<-5>/ DEG C, which is capable of forming a colour image of high quality with low colour deviation and high image density.</p>
