Support 1, in particular for use as a self-supporting bookshelf, comprising a shelf-like body 2 which bends in a smooth curve or with a number of corners and has a first longitudinal edge 3 and a second longitudinal edge 4. The ends 6, 7 of the shelf-like body 2 taper from a central section 5 towards the second longitudinal edge 4 and diverge (bulge out) in the same direction transversely with respect to the plane of the body 2. The ends 6, 7 form attachment points 8, 9 for attaching the support 1 to a wall by means of the second longitudinal edge 4 and without additional support material. <IMAGE>
