A patient isolation cabin (10) for the treatment of patients with weakened immune defences comprises a patient chamber (26) which can be exposed to an at least germ-free, laminar air stream flowing from the top downwards and flowing out of the patient chamber (26) via an opening. In order to increase the comfort for the patient and the safety with regard to contamination it is proposed that the opening be designed as a permanently open access opening (30) over the cross-section of which the air stream supplied to the patient chamber (26) flows off (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
