PURPOSE:To speedily make a fault recovery in the case of fault occurrence due to trouble of a control program of a device. CONSTITUTION:The system consists of a maintenance center 1, a communication line 4, a communication adapter 2, and an MTC(magnetic tape controller) 3; and memory patch information sent out of the maintenance center 1 is transferred to the MTC 3 through the communication adapter 2 to rewrite the contents of a memory 1 (52) where the control program is stored, the contents are written on an FD 1 loaded in an FDD1 (56), and thus the control program is rewritten through remote operation. If a fault due to trouble of the control program of the device occurs, the control program can be rewritten through the remote operation, so the fault recovery can speedily be made and the maintainability can be improved.
