PURPOSE:To surely cool a heater, to reduce power consumption, resulting from unnecessary operation of an exhaust fan, and generation of noise, and to prolong the life of the exhaust fan. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with the exhaust fan 42 which is used both for sending out hot air from a heat fixing device 23 and for sending out ozone from the periphery of a photosensitive drum. As device operation mode, the device is provided with the mode (standby mode) whereby, in a standby- condition in which image formation is not carried out, the heat roller of the heat fixing device 23 is maintained at a temperature of 150 deg.C which is lower than a fixing temperature of 185 deg.C. In this standby mode, in the standby- condition where the heat roller is controlled so as to be maintained at a temperature of 150 deg.C, a CPU 45 controls a fan motor 55 so that it rotates at a low speed, thereby rotating the exhaust fan 42 at a low speed compared to that in an image forming operation. |
