Cooling box, partic. for blast furnaces, has a plate-shaped base (1), in which a cooling medium groove (3) is machined, with two orifices (4, 5) for connection to the supply. The groove can consist of straight sections, connected and overlapping one inside the other. A cover plate (2) is explosively welded to the base plate, forming a closed coolant channel. Exposure is placed on the base plate between grooves. ADVANTAGE - Small material requirement, coolant path variable with different requirements.
