PURPOSE: To attain easy attaching/detaching to/from the second connector by providing snap lock connection mechanism to the second connector and an automatic release mechanism from the second connector. CONSTITUTION: An electric connector 10 is provided with a housing 20, plural contacts 18, a snap lock latch 24 and a movable outside hood 22. The snap lock latch 24 can connect the housing 20 to the second connector 12 automatically and mechanically, and hold it. The movable outside hood 22 is pulled by a user after connection, thereby the latch 24 is released, resultantly the electric connector 10 is released from the second connector 12. Also, comparatively solid and rigid latch grips 30, 31 of the second connector 12 can make emergency release by comparatively large pulling force of about 30 to 50 pounds or more without damaging the connection part of a member to which the outer case 32 of the second connector 12, a housing 28 or the second connector 12 is attached. |
