PURPOSE:To convert a word into a proper KATAKANA(the square form of Japanese syllabary) notation even if the word is the one of the language notation including a syllable having two or more pronunciations. CONSTITUTION:A conversion part 2 converts the English word fetched from an input part 1 into an KATAKANA notation by referring to the syllable/ KATAKANA convertion table stored in a data part 3, and further generates the KATAKANA candidate of the English word by using the obtained KATAKANA notation. A check part 4 consults a check dictionary 5 and selects a proper KATAKANA notation from the KATAKANA candidates generated in the conversion part 2. Thus, the selected KATAKANA notation of the English word is outputted from an output part 6. Thus, by utilizing the check dictionary 5 and selecting the proper KATAKANA notation, the proper KATAKANA notation can be obtained from two or more KATAKANA candidates related to the word of the language notation including the syllable having two or more pronunciations. |
