PURPOSE: To provide a compression molding method for molding a molding compd. containing a volatile component in an apparatus using a heating mold having a molding cavity and having a vacuum chamber combined with a vacuum chamber seal to produce a completed molded product showing an extremely smooth surface substantially free from a flaw. CONSTITUTION: A step for placing a mold at a partially closed position engaged with a vacuum chamber seal before the contact of the entire surface of the mold with a molding compd. material, a step for rapidly performing exhaustion so as to minimize the loss of the volatile component in the molding compd. material and a step for bringing the mold to a closed molding state and extending the molding compd. material while holding a vacuum chamber to reduced pressure to fill a mold cavity with the compd. material are provided.
