Process for the preparation of organometallic complexes, in which a water-soluble organic compound which contains a carbonyl functional group is complexed with a metal. The said complexes are obtained by the electrosynthesis by placing in a vessel (1) containing the said organic compound a solution (2) in water, two metal electrodes (3, 4) between which an electrical voltage is applied, the anode being the metal to be complexed on the organic compound. The complexes obtained can be employed in therapeutics or in chemical catalysis. <IMAGE>
