PURPOSE:To clean the air in the vicinity of a crossing, etc., not on the sidewalk side without marring the appearance by setting an air cleaner on a part of the surface of a road and below the road, sucking contaminated air directly from the road surface, cleaning the air with soil and blowing the cleaned air against the sidewalk. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a road 1 is formed with a perforated plate 11, a hole 13 is dug below the plate, and soil 17 is put in the hole 13. A power source is connected to drive a fan 25, and hence contaminated air is sucked through the perforated plate 11 and introduced into the soil 17. The contaminated air is physically or biologically adsorbed by the soil 17 and cleaned. The cleaned air is passed through a pipe 21 and blown off from an air blowoff port 19 provided on the sidewalk 5 side. |
