The object of the invention is to design a stunning device in such a manner that the electrodes are held in the desired, pressed-on position with complete reliability throughout the time in which current is passing through the head. In this context, the device according to the invention has the particular feature that the set of electrodes is displaceable at least in the vertical direction. The at-rest position can be ensured by spring means. Preferably, the set of electrodes can also move in the horizontal direction. Spring means can also be used to reach an at-rest position for this horizontal degree of freedom.
