PURPOSE:To provide a reaction method by which the deterioration of the performance of a catalyst is prevented and the service life is prolonged and to provide a reaction method by which energy can be saved in a process at a high temp. such as graphitizing. CONSTITUTION:A catalytic component or a solid soln. consisting of the catalytic component and a high m.p. compd. is heated at the outside of a reaction system to vaporize the catalytic component and this catalytic component is introduced as a vapor phase into the reaction system, where a chemical reaction as a vapor phase catalytic reaction is carried out.
