PURPOSE:To improve appearance and quality and to reduce the man-hours and cost of production by eliminating the possibility of peeling of a plating layer by forming of a coating film layer thereon and to securely join a coating film layer on a base material. CONSTITUTION:A grille body 2 having such annular line grooves 11 that the plating layer 3 is coated with an electroforming mask 27 is coated is obtd. and is subjected to electroless plating. The electroless plating layer 15 is formed over the entire part exclusive of the bottoms 11a of these grooves 11. The electroless plating layer 15 of the part where the plating is not required is dissolved and the electroplating layer 16 is formed on the surface of the electroless plating layer 15 of the part where the plating is required. The part of the plating layer 3 is coated by the electroforming mask 27 and coating is applied toward the exposed parts, by which the coating film layer 4 is directly formed on the grille body 2. The exposing of the plating layer 3 at the time when the electroforming mask 27 is coated does not arise and, therefore, the plating layer 3 is not formed with the coating film layer 4.
