This set of free wheel sprockets includes at least two juxtaposed sprockets (10, 12), respectively a large diameter and a small diameter one, which are intended to mesh selectively with a transmission chain. The large sprocket (10) has at least one pair of adjacent teeth (D1) designed to hook into the chain easily as the chain changes sprocket and the small sprocket (12) includes at least one pair of adjacent teeth (D2) designed to release the chain easily during this change of sprocket. The pairs of teeth (D1) for easily hooking into the chain and (D2) for easy release of the chain are arranged on the juxtaposed sprockets (10, 12) so that the segment of straight line extending between the centre (X) of the cavity separating the two teeth (D2) for easy release of the chain and the centre (Y) of the cavity separating the two teeth (D1) for easily hooking into the chain has a length L satisfying 2.49p </= L </= 2.70p. <IMAGE>
