<p>PURPOSE:To prevent wear and damage by mechanical stimuli and corrosion over a long period of time by forming a protective layer consisting of a carbide cermet under coat layer and an oxidation resistant alloy top coat layer on the inner side surface of the cooling water type skirt. CONSTITUTION:The inner side surface of the cooling water type skirt for a converter waste gas hood constituted by coupling plural skirt tubes 3 formed by using carbon steel pipes, etc., by means of fins 5 is provided with the protective layer by thermally spraying the under coat layer 8 consisting of the carbide cermet at 0.01 to 0.1mm thickness thereon and forming the top coat layer 9 consisting of the oxidation resistant alloy at 0.03 to 0.8mm thickness on this layer. The carbide cermet is preferably Cr3C2-NiCr, TiC-Ni or WC-NiCr. The oxidation resistant alloy preferably includes >=2 kinds among Cr, Al, Ta, Y, Ni and Co.; for example, an alloy consisting of 15 to 30wt.% Cr, 5 to 16% Al, 0.5 to 8% Ta, 0.1 to 1.0% Y and the balance Ni or Ni-Co is more adequate.</p> |
