The invention relates to an assembly for pumping out water for wells or boreholes of great depth (at least 10 to 100 metres) operating by pneumatic transmission without submerged rotating or moving parts. It is composed of a motorised compressor unit producing compressed air transmitted by hoses to two cylinder tanks (I) submerged in the water any distance away (4) which alternatively distributes the compressed air which imparts movement to the submerged pump, passing through an electronic distributor (2). The electronic distributor operates either on electricity (220) or, if the unit is autonomous (thermal), with a battery (12 volts) which is recharged either by dynamo or by photovoltaic (solar) panels. As an alternative to this pump, a relay composed of two pump cells is interposed between the bottom pump (1) and the surface water outlet making it possible to operate with half (50%) air pressure namely 4 1/2 bar, for a depth of 80 metres. <IMAGE>
