PURPOSE:To synthesize trioxane having high quality while suppressing the formation of formic acid absolutely without hindering the trioxane producing reaction and, furthermore, eliminating or decreasing formaldehyde intruded from formaldehyde used as a raw material, thereby simplifying the purification process. CONSTITUTION:Trioxane is synthesized from an aqueous solution of formaldehyde in the presence of a water-insoluble organic or inorganic solid acid catalyst in combination with a water-insoluble organic or inorganic solid base substance in the reaction system. |
