Massaging shower head

There is described a massaging shower head which can be used, for example, for medical therapeutic treatment of metabolic and vascular disorders and their cosmetic manifestations. Several hollow rollers which are arranged in the shower head, whose interiors contain turbines and whose surfaces are equipped with rounded plastic protrusions, are made to execute rotating movements by mechanical water force. On contact of these surfaces with the skin a massaging effects is produced thereby. The ergonomically designed handle facilitates guidance of the massaging shower head and permits intensification of the massaging effect by manual pressure. Besides the physical effects, it is also possible to utilise thermal effects of the water by variation of the water temperature for intensification of the massage treatment. Thus, the physical and thermal effects of water are thereby combined for the first time to selectively support the physiological effect of the massage in a manner which permits application within the framework of customary body hygiene, especially since the massaging shower head can also be used as shower head due to the specific arrangement of the rollers with protrusions.
