Driven threaded insert

The description is given of a driven threaded insert which can form a bore in a fastening object without difficulty in that the driven threaded insert itself is driven in without a bore having been introduced into the fastening object beforehand. The closure element (8) interacts with a hollow shank section (2) in order to separate a section (4) which is to be caulked from an internal-thread-forming section (6). The closure element (8) prevents a punched-out section (14), which is pressed out of the bore (13) formed by the driving-in of a driven threaded insert (1) itself, from passing to the internal-thread-forming section (6), with the result that the punched-out section (14) can simultaneously be pressed out by the closure element (8) being ejected.
