A connecting arrangement in a prefabricated cable harness for vehicles and in a distribution box which is used in a prefabricated cable harness, a plurality of individual main wires and a plurality of branching wires which branch off from them and form secondary cable harnesses (forming predetermined circuits with the aid of connecting means) are connected to one another with the aid of connecting means on electrically insulating elements which are formed from a wafer or a thin panel and which cover electrical connecting regions between the main wires and the branching wires, and the insulating elements are arranged stacked one on top of the other such that the entire connecting arrangement can be arranged in a housing or a box. This design of the connecting arrangement results in the prefabricated cable harness or the distribution box which is used in it being reduced in size, and the weight and the level of integration of the prefabricated assembly or of the distribution box, respectively, can be respectively reduced or increased. Furthermore, changes (including the replacement of circuits and the addition of new circuits to already existing circuits) can be carried out easily. Since the branching wires which are accommodated in the housing or the distribution box by folding the main wires can easily be removed therefrom and the insulating elements can thus easily be checked, the maintenance of the connecting arrangement is furthermore significantly simplified.
