A sound-deadening layer for, in particular, thin-walled metal sheets, has a layer of a sound damping material which is applied by means of an adhesive layer to a metal sheet to be sound-deadened. In order to be able to feed the sound-deadening layer in a simple way to a clean product recycling process, a thin separating layer, which is connected to the layer of the sound damping material and to the adhesive layer, is arranged between the layer of the sound damping material and the adhesive layer. The separating layer, which can be formed from a nonwoven or a composite film, in this arrangement has a mechanical strength which is lower than the connection both between the metal sheet and the adhesive layer and between the separating layer and the layer of sound damping material. To produce the sound-deadening layer, the thermoplastic separating layer and the layer of sound damping material are led together and laminated onto each other whilst melting the surfaces of both layers. |
